England all-rounder Sam Curran is hopeful of getting a good deal at the IPL auction on Friday. But he admitted that being in the same bracket as Ben Stokes and a few others could hurt his chances.
The IPL auction will be held in Kochi on December 23, and all-rounders like Stokes and Australia’s Cameron Greene are expected to attract fierce bids from several teams. Karan will enter the auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore and his bid is likely to go up many fold. The 24-year-old left-arm pacer said he will keep an eye on the televised auction.

“I’ve been to auctions before. I’ll watch the auction on TV. I think when the names come out on Friday morning, expect the price to go as high as possible,” Karan said in a video posted by ‘The Telegraph’.
Karan was the third highest bid of IPL 2019. He was acquired by Punjab Kings for Rs 7.2 crore. He says he is hopeful of getting a good deal this year as well.

“Firstly, to be selected. I definitely hope I get into one of the teams. But it could be different because I’m in the same bracket with (Ben) Stokes and a few other all-rounders and I think the auction is a certain set. So, anything can happen. Can,” he added.
The England all-rounder praised the Test team for their historic series win in Pakistan. The Ben Stokes-led side played sensational cricket in the Asian subcontinent and white-washed Pakistan at home. Talking about this, Karan mentioned that it is an outstanding performance.
“It’s outstanding. Having played under (Test captain) Stokes and (head coach) Brendon McCullum in the past, the way they are playing is amazing. It (the winning streak) started in the summer and the best thing about it is a number of players like Jonny (Bairstow). They played with confidence despite the injury. Now Brooky (Harry Brook) has come and scored three centuries in Pakistan. It’s absolutely amazing,” said Karan.
