The third umpire’s decision to headline again after the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings on Sunday. During the review, the Ultra-AJ ball was clearly seen, but the third umpire K Srinivasan declared Devdutt Parikkal not out. The third umpire felt the ball did not touch the gloves or the bat.

The incident happened in the eighth over of the innings when Ravi Bishnoi was bowling. After missing a few Google shots in Bishnoi, he went on to hit a reverse sweep with a ball. The ball landed in his gloves and fell into the hands of wicketkeeper KL Rahul. The on-field umpire did not give out when he applied for out. The third umpire also rejected Rahul’s request for a review.

Former Indian left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra is also shocked by the umpire’s decision. It seemed to him that Parikkal was clearly out. “I think it was out,” he told Cricketer. I have no doubt about this. The screen shows the ball touching the gloves. KL Rahul also took the catch well. But unfortunately the umpire did not give out. ”

Nehra also expressed his opinion about the catch of Rahul Tripathi

A few days ago, there was a controversy over another catch when Rahul Tripathi came running from deep midwicket and took a catch from KL Rahul. After observing for a long time, the umpire decided not to run out. Although Nehra has doubts about that out. He thought the ball might have touched the ground. And so the batter is not knocked out.

Nehra said, “I am not a big fan of soft signals. Umpires often stay away from the scene. So we have to take the help of the third umpire. And when the catches are nineteen or twenty, the decision is usually in favor of the batsman. ”
